Although the designs of the several iterations of Bissell’s Little Green Machine differ slightly, their fundamental functioning procedures are the same. Each Little Green ProHeat gadget has two tanks: one for pure, fresh water; the other for unclean water collected after cleaning carpets or water-cleanable upholstery. Some models also include various cleaning gadgets that can be attached to the hose’s end, making it simpler to target messes in particular trouble spots like stairways.
Assembly of the Little Green Machine
The hose clip and cord-wrap components may need to be attached to the base unit before using the Little Green Machine for the first time, even though the main unit of each model is already completed. The Little Green Machine’s bottom front has a slot that the hose clip fits into. This component clicks into place on machines like the 5207 series.
A hose storage bracket is also included with some models, including the 1425 series, and it attaches to the base unit’s rear. Line up the screw holes on the bracket with the holes on the gadget to connect this piece. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to tighten the provided screw after inserting it.
This component snaps into place without screws on the 5207 series. Additionally, some models come with a separate tool clip that can be attached to the Little Green Machine base unit or the hose storage bracket.
How to Use a Little Green Machine
Step By Step Guide
- The clean water tank must first be filled with water and a solution.
- Lift the tank straight up and away from the device to remove it.
- To reveal the tank entrance, pull on the black tab. For simple filling, the plug rotates out of the way.
- For large messes, add the recommended quantity of hot tap water, portable machine formula, and 1 oz. of Bissell Boost by following the fill lines on the clean tank. For lesser messes, the same rules apply. Simply proceed to the proper fill line.
- Rotate the plug back into position, then gently press it into the tank.
- By aligning the tank’s bottom with the machine’s dents, replace the tank. To ensure that the tank is in a stable position, firmly press down on it.
- The flex hose should then be removed from the hose grasp bracket, completely unwrapped from the unit, and inserted with the appropriate equipment for spot cleaning. As soon as it’s in position, you should hear a click.
- Unwrap the power cable entirely and turn the quick release cord wrap clockwise before plugging into a grounded outlet.
- Pre-treating excessively soiled or stained areas helps increase the effectiveness of your cleaning process.
- Hold the preferred instrument slightly above the stain while applying a pre-treatment by pulling the trigger to sprinkle the solution over the stained area. Before cleaning, wait 3-5 minutes for the solution to start working.
- Release the spray trigger and use the brush attachment to gently clean the stain.
- Apply downward pressure on the instrument and slowly bring it toward you to remove the stain. Continue cleaning until no more dirt is accessible.
- Use drying strokes as a last resort to wring out as much moisture as you can. As many times as necessary, repeat this process.
Getting Rid of Tough Stains
Pretreating stains and dried spills after filling the tank with cleaning solution and water can help your Little Green Machine work more efficiently. If you haven’t already, unwind the Little Green Machine’s cord and hose before plugging it in and turning it on. To the flex hose’s end, screw the chosen spot-cleaning tool. Press the hose’s trigger while holding the instrument a few inches above the location to spritz it with the cleaning solution. Take a five-minute break before moving on.
Spot and stain removal
Choose the most appropriate cleaning tool for the task, such as the triangle-shaped tool for carpeted stair corners. Press the tool firmly over the area you want to clean after attaching it to the flexible hose. Pulling the cleaning tool toward you while depressing the hose’s trigger will discharge some cleaning solution. Repeat for regions that are really dirty.
To help remove dirt and debris while using a cleaning tool with a brush, brush the area without pulling the trigger. Repeat the process as often as necessary, moving the tool in your direction to remove moisture from the area you are cleaning. Please feel free to clean the area once again if it still appears dirty.
